There aren’t too many young people who would dare take this kind of selfie, and if they would they most certainly would not share it with the world. 27 year old Tawny Willoughby changed the face of her selfie
She tells how at 21 years young she developed skin cancer, but she didn’t have to ask the questions why or how did this happen to me because she already knew. Tanning, and more specifically on a tanning bed where the rays are in direct contact with your skin. This did not happen just 1 time a week, 2 or even 3 times a week. Folks at The Aspire New Brunswick have learned that, according to Tawny, she laid on a tanning bed at “least 4-5 times a week” and as a young person with the skin still so fragile this is hazardous. What I find very interesting and inspiring is in the face of ridicule this young woman would dare to tell the truth about her situation, we know that the younger generation is about seeing for themselves. We can’t just talk them to death about right or wrong, harmful not harmful, good and bad, for them seeing is believing. The fact that they can and will relate to Tawny will most assuredly change lives, maybe even save lives. Awareness is power!
