Adenosine is something that builds in the brain that makes you feel like you are tired. Coffee has caffeine, and the caffeine from coffee is like a stoplight. It doesn’t let the adenosine adhere to the cells in the brain. This is why you don’t feel like you’re tired after you drink coffee. Most people will drink coffee in the morning to wake up or during the day if they feel like they want to go to sleep but have important tasks to get done.
Perhaps this is why people seem to stay awake longer and need to drink one cup after another of coffee during the day to function. On Lulu.com, that is certainly what people think. It doesn’t seem like a healthy way to stay awake because the body needs to get sleep in order to rest the body systems. It wouldn’t be surprising if one day everyone lived on coffee and no one went to sleep at all.
