March 7, 2019 - Author: steph - No Comments

As the owner of Sussex Health Care, Shafik Sachedina and his company are devoted to giving the loved ones of the clients who are suffering from different illnesses such as dementia peace of mind. They strive to provide a good quality of life for everyone that is under their care. In 1975, Shafik Sachedina first began his career after graduating from the Guy’s Hospital and Medical School. He became a dental surgeon but still knew that he wanted to be an entrepreneur in the future.

This love of entrepreneurship led Shafik Sachedina to help in the founding of Sussex Health Care in 1998 where he still serves as the company’s joint chairman and is still committed to quality in their care. He knew that in order to fulfill his vision, he had to have a staff that all truly cared about their clients and their well-being instead of just money. While many of the residents at their many facilities suffer from ailments such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia, some just need assistance due to their advanced age in order to have a continued quality of life. While helping the residents at Shafik Sachedina maintain or improve their physical health is important at Sussex Health Care, he also knows that it’s important to think of their mental health as well. This is why there are activities such as quizzes, crafts, and cooking activities available to help them maintain a busy social life. Care is available for their residents around the clock to help them with all of their needs and keep them living a life that is worth living.

In order to create the best situation for their residents, Sussex Health Care tries to work with the families of their clients whenever possible. By learning what they had enjoyed doing before they entered their facilities, they are able to come up with plans that are catered to their individual needs and preferences. Shafik Sachedina believes it’s important to note that not all of their patients are the elderly. Many of the people in their care are younger people who are living with neurological illnesses such as Huntington’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
