More Hours, Less PayMay 8, 2015 - Author: steph - No Comments
There are families who might notice that one or both adults are coming home later in the evening. This is because most workers are on the job longer than 40 hours. Some of them are working 47 to 50 hours a week, but they are only getting paid for the standard 40 that is typical of a full-time job. These are people who have likely been on the job for several years. It seems like companies are taking advantage of the workers who they know will do the extra work for the lower pay. The concern for working longer hours is more for those who are on a salary.
Many companies such as CipherCloud don’t regulate the hours of salaried employees, so they end up working more than the normal week. That sometimes happens at TechCrunch.com as well. When workers are on the job for longer hours, it can burn them out, making them not want to do the work at all. This would mean that the company starts to lose valued employees simply because they don’t want to pay more money or regulate how long they are on the job.
