End Citizens United Bettering the Lives of Americans by Rallying Behind Reform-Driven Leaders

October 29, 2017 - Author: steph

Since time immemorial, the American economy has been suffering under the harsh times of money-controlled leadership. In the American political realm, the individual with the most money carried the day. However, things changed for the better after the Supreme Court ruling that defined corporations as individuals. From this ruling, the American people were awakened and came together under one umbrella, the End Citizens United, with a mission of ending money in politics.

End Citizens United is a Political Action Committee (PAC) headed by Tiffany Muller who is the group’s president. This PAC group is unified by the objective of curbing money in politics and seeks to do so in a number of ways including leading by example. End Citizens United has on many occasions supported political figures to different political positions. Unlike other organizations, this groups collects its funding from its grassroots members whereby the organization even caps the maximum amount of contribution that a single individual can donate. This is done to encourage transparency and accountability in their operations.

The second and most important objective in which End Citizens United achieves its goal is by rallying behind a reform-based leader. End Citizens United has rallied behind some leaders with the latest one being the Democratic U.S. Senate nominee for the Alabama December 12th elections, Doug Jones. Jones is a former attorney and is running for the seat with Roy Moore after the seat fell vacant with the confirmation of Jeff Sessions for the U.S Attorney general position.

According to End Citizen United’s president, Tiffany, Jones is the most appropriate candidate for the vacant Senate position going by his record of accomplishment. Unlike his counterpart, Mr. Jones is a man of character, and he is in a better position to defend the interest of the majority Alabamians. As an attorney, Jones has always executed his duties diligently to the extent of advising his fellow counsel on following the right path. It is with the same breath that Mr. Jones promises to deliver to his electorates when elected for the position.

Jones believes in the systems laid down by End citizen United and that apart from the grass root contributions, policies too are important in the war against money in politics. According to Jones, when elected, one of his first objectives will be to unbend the system that seems to favor the wealthy in politics and restore power back to the people. Currently, End Citizens United has less than three years since it was founded and commands a population of over three million members. With this process, it is just a matter of time and money in politics will be a thing of the past, thanks to End Citizens United.

End Citizens United Continues Battle For Campaign Finance Reform

September 6, 2017 - Author: steph

What does the name Citizens United mean to you? The sad, and understandable, truth is that most average American voters have never heard of the name before. What Citizens United is, fundamentally, is one of the biggest problems to ever happen in Washington D.C. The American political machine was rendered a great blow back in 2010 when a man named James Bopp and his group Citizens United argued before the Supreme Court in order to take down regulations that keep our voting institutions safe and representative of our populace. You probably haven’t heard that much about this so we’ll walk you through why things are that way nowadays.

Tara Malloy runs the Campaign Legal Center and she defined Bopp’s work as, “A very broad-based litigation assault being waged against both state and federal campaign finance laws.” In summation that pretty much covers what Bopp and the right wing Citizens United group have been up to. However, that fully doesn’t represent the depths of what Bopp is attempting to make happen. Let’s go back to 2008 when Bopp approached the Federal Election Commission in order to try and air a smear piece during the Democratic primaries.

It was 2008 and James Bopp was standing before the FEC. He was desperately trying to air his ‘film’, ‘Hillary: The Movie’, at the same time that the Democratic primaries were underway. The ‘film’, and we quote this intentionally, was nothing more than 90 minutes of insults and slander hurled toward Hillary Clinton. The FEC took one look at the transcript of the film and laughed Bopp out of the court room. What Bopp was trying to do was fundamentally wrong. He was trying to circumnavigate campaign laws by packing his propaganda as a legitimate piece of art. The FEC saw right through that. Unfortunately that wasn’t the end of the conversation.

In 2010 Bopp and his group would come better prepared to stand before the Supreme Court. Bopp successfully argued and fought against campaign financing regulations. The shackles came off. Dark money would soon fly into politics. Since 2010 we can see a marked depreciation in the quality of political discourse in our country and the proportionate amount of politicians being bought off by special interests. Bopp calls this ‘freedom’ but every sane American knows this decision was just the blessing that Big Money needed in order to subvert the votes and will of the American people.

That’s where End Citizens United comes into the picture. This political action committee is being run by Tiffany Muller and her singular focus is on repealing the Citizens United decision of 2010. Through the first three months of 2017 Muller and her PAC have raised $4 million of their $35 million goal to make this happen.
