{Time Saving Tips}

Hello my darling fashionistas! Hope all of you are having a good start to the week thus far. Only one holiday left before the new year!!! *sniff sniff* As for me… Thanksgiving weekend was a bit rough… hardly relaxing. Oh but wait… what’s that I see? A silver lining?!?! *vroom vroom* Here I go… puttin’ the pedal to the metal yo!!! Sometimes it pays to be impatient :)

Speaking of which… us impatient folks gotta stick together! So I thought I’d compile a list of some of my favorite time saving tips for getting things done as quickly… efficiently & painlessly as possible. Why? Because if you are anything like me… that is… ADD… it pays to work smarter.

Lifestyle Tips

  1. Purchase grocery items that may be used throughout the week to create new dishes. Why shop M-F for ingredients that can only make one meal? By planning meals in advance… you can choose ingredients that have the flexibility to be used in a variety of dishes. And by the way… kettle corn is more than just a snack. Include it in trail mix… in your morning bowl of cereal… in lieu of croutons… or to add a crunchy *& sweet* texture/flavor to baked fish/poultry.
  2. Make one dish in bulk & freeze the leftovers for later use as needed.
  3. Organize your space and place labels on boxes… packages & anything else that may contain visually hidden content. This will save time on looking for lost or misplaced items.
  4. Plan & organize. Whatever the situation… whether it involves the kids… your relationships or a little downtime… consider ways to plan ahead. If you’ve got a household full of kids that you must chaffeur to various events… school functions… activities… ect… plan the driving route & have snacks available beforehand.

Fashion & Beauty Tips

  1. Choose products that are multi-functional. Case in point… my niece is wearing the PERFECT summer AND winter dress!!! And mismatched shoes… totally IN! Girl knows how to rock it. Purchasing clothing that serve more than one purpose will eliminate clutter in your wardrobe. The same rule applies to beauty products. Sunblock + tint + skin tone corrector + primer ALL-IN-ONE will not only save money… but also the time it takes to apply each product individually.
  2. Keep a stash of versatile shoes… accessories & make-up kit in the office or car so that you can easily transform from office wear to night-out-with-the-girls wear.
  3. Practice your skin care routine RELIGIOUSLY!!! This may seem like an added step to your beauty routine… and it is… but taking care of your skin & health today means that you won’t have to worry about covering up blemishes or uneven skin tone tomorrow.

Professional Tips

  1. Automate… automate… automate. In the age of technology… it has become so simple to automate every aspect of our lives… so why not take advantage?!?! If you are a professional blogger… for instance… schedule posts in advance or install a plugin to allow new posts to automatically update to Facebook or Twitter.
  2. Is there an app for that?! There are so many apps available to make life easier… Evernote is one app that helps to organize your schedule… and WordPress is another app that allows you to blog a new post straight from your phone if you don’t have access to a computer.
  3. Don’t be afraid to delegate. I will be the first to admit that I often feel the need to do everything myself… after all… I’m the only one that does everything right… right? WRONG! Hire the best support team possible… and let them do their job!

Failure to acknowledge & implement said awesome tips may result in the nutcase syndrome…

True story. During an attempt to create the perfect batch of chocolate madelaine ‘cookies’ last Christmas… I had completely ignored the need to plan the recipe in advance {especially those recipes that you have created yourself… are completely new… and you plan to serve that very day}… I very unwisely purchased ingredients that served one… and only one… purpose {to make chocolate madelaine ‘cookies’. Sitting in my cupboard… one year later… are the candied orange peels used to make the damn cookies!}… AND I refused to delegate. Lesson learned. By the way… the chocolate madelain ‘cookies’ came out fine… 18 hours later.
